Hello! I will read the story to you.

Voices come from your device. If one sounds odd, choose another.

Prayer is talking and listening to God. We lift up our minds and hearts to Him, just like talking with a friend who loves us.

We can pray anywhere and anytime: at church, at the table, in the car, in bed and even on the playground. God always listens.

Catholics often begin prayer with the Sign of the Cross. We touch our forehead (Father), our heart (Son), our left shoulder and our right shoulder (Holy Spirit). It reminds us of the Holy Trinity and of Jesus' cross.

Here is an easy way to pray, using your hand:

  • Thumb: “Thank You, God, for…”
  • Pointer finger: “Please help someone I love…”
  • Middle finger: “I'm sorry for…”
  • Ring finger: “Please help me with…”
  • Little finger: “I love You, God!”

Even a short prayer makes God happy. At the end we say “Amen,” which means “Yes, I believe it!”
